If you are missing something, please inquire at the concession stand. We have collected many items!!
When does the season start?
Practices will begin Monday, August 29th with the following schedule:
U7 and U8: Mondays 6-7p NO PRACTICE ON LABOR DAY 9/5
U6 and U11-15: Tuesdays 6-7p
U9-10: Thursdays: 6-7p
Games will begin Saturday, September 10th, with games every Saturday through October 29th.
Each team will play 2 games on October 1st (Cook-out day)
Tournament will be held on October 29th
(Schedules will be posted in early September)
When will I be contacted as to what team my child is playing on?
Teams will be posted at the first practice. Players will gather together, meet their coaches and their fellow teammates, receive their uniforms, and have their first practice.
Are there any scheduled practice sessions?
Practices will begin Monday, August 29th with the following schedule:
Mondays 5-6p
U7: Field 6 (NE corner of Morris Park)
U11-15: Field 5 (NW corner of Morris Park)
Tuesdays 5-6p
U6: Field 6 (NE corner of Morris Park)
U9-10: Field 5 (NW corner of Morris Park)
Thursdays: 5-6p
U8: Field 5 (NW corner of Morris Park)
Where are games played?
Games are all played at the Morris Park Soccer Fields on 163rd St. between Cedar and Gougar Rds. in Homer Glen.
Does the Homer Soccer Club provide uniforms?
Yes, jersey, shorts and a pair of soccer socks.
What size ball should I buy for my child?
Size 3 for players up to U-8, Size 4 from U-9 through U-12, Size 5 U-13 and older
What should my child wear for practice/training and to games?
For practice wear a pair of athletic shorts or at least a pair of comfortable shorts or loose fitting pants in cold weather. Shin guards covered by socks are required or the kids cannot play for insurance purposes. Socks must cover the shin guards entirely. Soccer shoes are recommended though not a requirement. When the ground gets wet kids can easily fall without proper footwear. At the very least a pair of gym shoes which conform well to their feet. Shoes are perhaps the most undervalued piece of soccer equipment. (Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods) A bottle of water or sports drink diluted to 50% water. For games, wear your uniform, bring a big smile and have fun!
Is there a photo day?
Photo day is scheduled for Saturday, September 17th. Times will be posted later.
We do take pictures and post them on the website. You do have the opportunity to purchase any that you like.
